Margaret Butler associated with internationally respected designer, Maya Lin of Maya Lin Studio, New York for this unique private library for the Children’s Defense Fund. The project involved dissembling a historic cantilever barn. The barn was then reassembled with a steel structure, modern HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The elegant detailing of the renovation is precise and contemporary. This is a stark juxtaposition to the rustic construction of an Appalachian log structure.
